Bamboo and Cane Craft with a Tangkhul Maker

About this experience

Manipur's hill households make almost everything from bamboo and cane: baskets, fish traps, rain hats, storage bins. In this workshop you split and shave your own strips and weave a small carrying basket under the eye of a maker who has been doing it since childhood. Slow, absorbing work and a genuinely useful object at the end.
