Host with Discover Manipur

Your home already knows how to welcome people.

A spare room around the courtyard. A kitchen that turns out eromba and singju every evening. A loom in the back shed. A ridge you have walked since you were nine. Travellers come to Manipur for exactly these, and Discover Manipur puts them in front of the families, cooks, guides and weavers who have them.

Why host

Three reasons to list your home here

  • Free, with no commission

Discover Manipur charges hosts nothing and takes no cut. No money passes through the platform: what a guest pays is between you and the guest.

  • You keep control

Your rate, your house rules, your guests. The listing carries your family's name and story, not a brand laid over it.

  • Manipur, told properly

Guests arrive already knowing what eromba is, why the phumdi float and that Ukhrul is four hours away. Fewer surprises for them, fewer arguments for you.

What to expect

You cook, host and guide. Here is what the platform does today.

Hosting is free and run by volunteers. Some of this is live now and some is still being built.

  • A listing page that explains the place

Once the community verifies your place, it gets its own public page with your description and up to 6 of your own photographs. Write it in Meiteilon, Hindi or English. There is no photographer visit.

  • Honest verification labels

Every listing shows how well it has been checked, from official records to a single source, so guests know what is confirmed. Guest ID checks are not in place.

  • Translation, planned

Translating listings and guest messages into your language is on the roadmap but not built yet. Ask on the community Discord if you want help with wording.

  • No payments to chase

We take no payment and hold no money, so there is no payout to wait for. Questions and problems go to the community Discord.

Earnings

What could a month look like?

Move the sliders to your own price and your own availability. This is an honest estimate, not a promise. Demand in Manipur is seasonal and your costs are your own.

₹1,400

Rooms in Imphal leikais list between ₹900 and ₹2,200 a night.

10

Most new hosts fill between a quarter and a half of the month in their first season.

What guests would pay you each month

₹14,000

This is an estimate, not an offer. It assumes you fill the nights you set here and excludes your own costs (food, laundry, electricity, repairs) and any tax you owe. Demand in Manipur is strongly seasonal: November around the Sangai Festival and the Shirui lily season in May run far fuller than the monsoon months.

How it works

Four steps from signing in to a published place

  1. Sign in with a verified email

Create an account or sign in, and confirm your email address. Only verified accounts can add places or vote on them.

  2. Add your place

Use Add a place to describe your homestay, kitchen, workshop or the place you look after, and say that you own it or work there. Add up to 6 of your own photographs so voters can see it is real.

  3. The community verifies it

Verified members vote on it. It is published once 10 of them upvote it within 48 hours; otherwise it is held for an admin to review. Nothing is deleted, and you cannot vote for your own place.

  4. Follow it under My places

See where your place stands at any time under My places. If an admin decides not to publish it, the reason is shown there. Listing is free: Discover Manipur charges no fee and keeps no commission.
