A traditional Meitei house on the Thanga side of Loktak, with a verandah that looks straight out over the phumdi rings. Mornings start with mist on the water and the sound of paddles; the family will take you out in their own canoe before breakfast. Meals are cooked on a wood hearth: kangshoi, ngari-based eromba and lake fish caught that morning.
