About this place
A 200-acre botanical reserve run by the state forest department on NH-2 north of Imphal, holding more than 110 orchid species, among them endemic and rare varieties such as Vanda coerulea and several Dendrobium. Glasshouses, shaded walkways and a small interpretation hall make it an easy, quiet half-morning.
How to reach
12 km north of Imphal on NH-2 toward Senapati; any Senapati-bound shared sumo can drop you at the gate.
Local tips
- Come in the bloom season: outside April–May many houses are bare.
- Bring a macro lens or phone macro mode; the best flowers are small.
- The forest office can arrange a guided walk if asked at the gate.
