Khoupum Valley
Khouduang waterfall
Manipur's second-largest valley, and almost nobody goes
About this place
Khoupum is the second-largest valley in Manipur, home to the Rongmei, and holds a large earthen dam, rivers, the Khukdai cave and the Khouduang waterfall — three falls in total. It has become a picnic valley for people who know it, and stays empty otherwise.
How to reach
81 km from Imphal on the Old Cachar Road.
Local tips
- Monsoon (June–September) is when the falls are at full volume, but the Old Cachar Road is at its worst then — check road status before setting out.
- Carry out your own waste; there is no facility at the falls.
