Mutua Bahadur Museum of Cultural Heritage
One man's lifelong salvage of Manipuri material culture
About this place
A private museum in Imphal assembled by folklorist and collector Mutua Bahadur, holding textiles, manuscripts, coins, terracotta, traditional tools, ornaments and musical instruments that state collections never gathered. The textile gallery in particular is the best place in Manipur to understand phanek, innaphi and the weaving traditions of the hill communities.
