About this place
Thangjing rises west of Loktak and is sacred as the seat of the deity Thangjing, central to the Moirang Kangleirol epic and to the Moirang Lai Haraoba. The annual pilgrimage draws large numbers, and the ridge looks down over Loktak and the southern valley.
How to reach
Approach from Moirang, 45 km from Imphal, then a hill trek of 4–5 hours. Confirm access locally before setting out.
