About this place
Waroiching, also called Baruni Hill, rises above Kakching town and is climbed for sunrise over the southern valley. A shrine sits near the top and the ridge path is short enough to do before breakfast, one of the better-kept local secrets of the Kakching side.

47 km from Imphal via Thoubal and Kakching; shared sumo to Kakching, then a local auto to the base.

- Start in the dark with a torch if you want the sunrise from the top.
- The shrine area is sacred; leave it as you find it.
