About this place
A small hillock on the Tiddim Road where Allied and Japanese forces fought from 20 to 29 May 1944 — the southernmost point the Japanese reached in the Battle of Imphal. Japanese veterans built the India Peace Memorial at the foot of the hill; it was inaugurated in 1994 on the battle's 50th anniversary. A cemetery in the foothills holds the tombs of Japanese soldiers, and the Imphal Peace Museum stands at the same foot of the hill.
