About this place
A small, calm lake on the Imphal–Thoubal road, ringed by low hills and terraced paths. A tourist park sits on the slope above with pavilions and a viewing deck, and the shallows attract herons, egrets and winter waterfowl. It is the easiest lake stop in the valley after Loktak.
How to reach
16 km east of Imphal on NH-102 toward Thoubal; any Thoubal-bound bus or shared auto passes it (₹40–60).
Local tips
- Binoculars are worth carrying in winter.
- Small boats are sometimes available from the eastern bank; ask at the park gate.
- Combine with Khongjom War Memorial, 12 km further on.
