About this place
A small, still lake wrapped in forest in Kamjong district, near the Myanmar border, reached by a rough road and a short walk. Almost no outside visitors come here; local Tangkhul villages treat it as a fishing and picnic place, and the birdlife around the margins is excellent at dawn.
How to reach
About 130 km from Imphal via Ukhrul and Kasom Khullen on hill roads; a 4WD and a local contact are effectively required.
Local tips
- Arrange a village guide in Kasom Khullen; the turning is unmarked.
- Carry all supplies: there is nothing on the last 40 km.
- Travel in daylight and check road conditions after rain.
